Highly effective, VSCC award winning Riley 9 Special. Dating from 1934 and coverted many years ago from a saloon this competitive Riley is ready for it`s next owner to campaign and possibly cosmetically improve.The car is mot`d and taxed for road use.Mechanically very well sorted this car represents a turn key entry into many events and although somewhat frayed around the edges it gives a prospective new owner the winter months to fettle prior to next season. It is a well used VSCC Special and also suits the larger driver,the owner being over 13 stones and 6 feet tall.

Engine wise the block has been sleeved to standard with Omega pistons. The crank is counterbalanced billet with 2" shell big ends from a Lotus Cortina. The rods are steel billet and the cams are Newman fast road with ERA type followers with tubular steel pushrods. The head has been crack tested and has standard valves with Triumph springs and bronze guides and the ports have been cleaned .The exhaust is a 4:2:1 system and the carbs are twin 1 1/4 SU`s and a Scintilla Vertex rounds the whole set up off.

The gearbox is a manual All Helical Riley 9 and braking is standard cable which the owner assures us is fit for purpose!

All in all a slightly scruffy Riley Race Special visually with excellent mechanics which can be improved by an enthusistic new owner to continue campaigning.
