weitere Informationen/more info | In 1930, the registration FV 1183 and the chassis number 609960 were allocated to a 9hp Riley "2-seater sports." Over a period of three years from 2001 to 2003, this car was re-created from the ground up using original, restored, and newly-sourced parts. The objective was to manufacture a replica of a Riley works team rally car, suitable for entertaining and rewarding driving on the road, and with the potential for future development for rallies or the track. The body has been copied closely from the Maclure “Type 1” of 1936 with short tail, no doors, and a full width windscreen together with Percy’s characteristic exposed rear view mirror on the scuttle. The basis for this car was a new 'Speed Model' chassis- also known as the 'Brooklands' chassis, which was boxed with drilled strengthening plates, primed with red lead and 2-pack painted. A full length alloy under-tray was fitted in uprated gauge for additional stiffening. |
