Informationen/information |
This is a factory 1936 Riley Chassis with original matching engine number and running gear, these came from the Riley factory-lightened the chassis has then been cross-braced to gain maximum rigidity and the engine sits on a sub frame.
Large drilled hydraulic Riley drum brakes offer excellent braking. The 12/4 of 1936 is an overhead twin cam engine that was a factory option of that year is 1500cc and Supercharged when the rebuild was undertaken, this offers rapid progress through a 4 speed synchronised box and semi open pipes and a wonderful bark when provoked. The Coachbuilt aluminium and steel winged body by Dune and the Restoration by Brooklands over a 2 year period is to an exacting standard and I do not think it could be bettered, with paintwork to match in French Blue. The interior is in full leather and the dash offers a complete set of period instruments set in wood. The joy of this car is the legroom! It fits a modern 6ft man with comfort and the rear of the seat can be adjusted to preference. Storage behind the seat carries a full tonneau and half tonneau plus hood, and behind the clam-shell boot lies a spare wheel jack and hammer. In addition the car has a battery cut-off. fuel cut off switch and additional switches for electric cooing fan and additional electric water-pump. Race tyres are fresh as is the whole car having only covered just over 3000 miles after a two year rebuild about ten years ago! |
